Consultant I
PSC is seeking a Consultant I to join us on an exciting journey within the renewable energy sector! The role of Consultant I centers on electric utility operational technology systems, including Advanced Distribution Management Systems (ADMS), SCADA, and Energy Management Systems (EMS), while also requiring proficiency in IT and troubleshooting.

Location: This role will be located out of Cary, North Carolina office. Due to the nature of learning and development, we will need this person onsite.
What You’ll Do
Designed to foster curiosity, innovation, and professional advancement, this role within the North America Operational Technologies team entails assisting PSC Clients in the integration, upgrade, modeling, and commissioning of EMS/SCADA/ADMS systems—a pivotal aspect of infrastructure projects. As a Consultant I, you will offer technical support, collaborating closely with the Operational Technologies team to gain valuable insights into power systems, particularly focusing on EMS/SCADA/ADMS systems.
As a Consultant I, you will be responsible for preparing, reviewing, and editing technical documentation, participating in EMS/ADMS modeling, and participating in architecture reviews, testing, and configuration tasks on both Windows and Linux systems. You will also compile and review client requirements to support the development of project specifications, participate in technical reviews of EMS/SCADA/ADMS systems under the direction of senior and principal consultants on the team, assist with preparing tender submissions and proposals, and assist with winning work and exploring new project opportunities and Clients.
We’d love you to have:
- Associate degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 2 years of IT experience, with a strong foundation in troubleshooting and problem-solving working with various types of software packages.
- Eagerness to learn and apply skills in the renewable energy space.
- Basic understanding of networking concepts.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Adaptability and willingness to explore new technologies and concepts.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Commitment to sustainability and a passion for contributing to a greener future.
Preferred Skills:
- Familiarity with IT systems in the context of renewable energy projects.
- Certifications related to renewable energy technologies or sustainability practices.
Special Requirements
- Legally authorized to work in the US with no restrictions on travel between Canada and the US.

We Offer:
PSC is committed to the principle of pay equity – paying employees equitably for substantially similar work. The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions. The final pay offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to the type and years of experience within the job, the type of years and experience within the industry, education, training, licensure, certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At PSC it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $69,000 to $100,000.
