Consultant II, Telecommunications and Networking

This role provides specialist telecommunications technical capabilities to support a team of specialists and deliver solutions to clients in the energy sector. The role involves a split between working remotely, and from the office/workshop in the CBD - responsibilities include building/constructing telecommunications cubicles, installation of cubicles/equipment into communications buildings, testing & commissioning of communications equipment, fault diagnosis and remedy of communication equipment and transmission failures for a multitude of client sites

Adelaide (hybrid remote AND in-office)

Your skills and experience that bring the biggest impact:

• Field technician experience in industrial environments
• IP networking and security infrastructure
• Telecommunications DC systems and installation (chargers, DC supplies, and solar systems)
• Cabling (optic fibre, copper, data, and ELV power cables)
• Optical Fibre cable inspection, cleaning, handling and testing
• Telecommunications rack/cubicle/cabinet installation
• Telecommunications technical documentation and associated commissioning and testing.

We’ve got some specific needs that you'll have to meet:

• Minimum Certificate 3 or higher in Telecommunications
• Construction induction card (white card)
• Current Australian Drivers Licence
• Authorised to work in Australia without the need for additional sponsorship.
  

We’d love you to have:

• Telecommunications experience in the electricity utility sector
• Electricity networks LAN & WAN experience
• UHF and microwave radio systems installation
• Multiplexer systems (PDH, SDH) and IP based on systems including MPLS.
• Telecommunications technical documentation and associated commissioning and testing.

At PSC it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role - we want you to come in and grow, not feel like you're at the top of your grade with no scope to have a career. As compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case, and this role is dependent on the individual's attributes, a reasonable estimate of the current range (dependent on candidate experience) is:

$89,000 AUD to $125,000 AUD
