What You’ll Do as a SCADA / ADMS Engineer:
You will work closely with clients to gain a thorough understanding of their operational and functional requirements - this role involves identifying necessary modifications to existing applications or developing new solutions as required. Additionally, you will be responsible for defining and leading system testing programmes for SCADA, ADMS, and other operational technology (OT) systems.
The role has three key elements for you to demonstrate suitability:
- Technical Services – Auditing, development, integration, testing, commissioning.
- Consulting Services – Client support, solution design, advisory.
- Client Engagement – Building long-term value with clients.
Your day could look like:
- Providing project support for the installation, upgrade, and maintenance of SCADA and ADMS (Advanced Distribution Management Systems).
- Developing and upskilling new engineers, passing on knowledge through various types of in-house media.
- Testing systems (includes providing feedback and results to clients and vendors).
- Conducting a variety of audits and improvement initiatives for our clients.
- Being involved in projects like ICCP development or device protocol mapping for legacy to modern networks (where you can show your experience with IEC 61850 or DNP3 network standards).
Required Skills – SCADA, RTU & ADMS Systems
We’ve got some specific needs that we are looking for:
- 5+ years’ experience in operational technology (OT) or control systems environments, ideally delivering or supporting SCADA, RTU, and ADMS solutions within electricity distribution or transmission networks.
- Strong user or integrator-level expertise in at least one major ADMS platform, such as GE PowerOn Advantage or OSI Monarch – your experience may come from a vendor, installer, utility, or consulting environment.
- Experience working with tools or environments like GIS integration, data cleansing/manipulation or working with relational databases to support network model and configuration workflows.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively with clients, vendors, and internal teams.
- Familiarity with structured testing methodologies such as FAT, SAT, and UAT, and tools such as ALM, Bugzilla, or similar platforms is preferred, but not essential.
Nice-to-Have Skills, Technical Leadership & Growth
We’d love to reward your drive and ambition with:
- The space to help grow PSC’s ADMS capabilities, shaping the team, mentoring others, and expanding our delivery impact.
- Experience to grow as a technical lead or reviewer on complex consulting projects within the Operational Technology domain.
- The trust to lead, take ownership, and do what’s right, even when it’s not the easy option.
