Senior Consultant II, SCADA/EMS/ADMS
The future of operational technology hinges on experts who can deliver SCADA, EMS, and ADMS solutions with precision and expertise. We are looking for an experienced technical leader to deliver high-impact SCADA, EMS, DMS, and ADMS solutions for our utility clients. This role focuses on hands-on technical execution, team leadership, and strategic consulting across the full lifecycle of energy control systems. You'll work with clients to design, integrate, maintain, and enhance mission-critical platforms for power generation, transmission, and distribution.
This is a senior-level position that also includes project management, best practices consulting, and mentoring of junior engineers. You’ll lead client engagements, shape technical direction, and ensure successful delivery of complex system integration projects.
Location: You can work from one of our offices or remotely in the USA or Canada. We are not able to accept applications from candiadtes who do not currently live in the US or Canada.
Key Responsibilities
- Advise clients on technical and strategic direction related to SCADA, EMS, DMS, ADMS, and Markets system lifecycles
- Develop methodologies, project plans, schedules, and time estimates
- Prepare or contribute to proposals and statements of work
- Manage individual and team project deliverables and hours
- Lead application and functional design for new and upgraded systems
- Mentor and develop junior engineers and consultants
- Maintain strong client relationships through clear, proactive communication
- Perform integration and support for the installation, upgrade, and maintenance of Energy Management and/or Distribution Management Systems
- Lead or contribute to the development of scripts for system configuration, data conversion, operation, and testing
- Design and manage database models for both new and existing systems
- Lead or assist in editing SCADA displays and HMI interfaces
- Conduct system testing, including point-to-point, factory acceptance (FAT), and site acceptance (SAT), and provide technical feedback to vendors and clients
- Troubleshoot and resolve system issues, including root cause analysis in collaboration with client and vendor engineering teams
- Continuously improve system documentation and maintenance procedures
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Power Systems Engineering or related field (or equivalent professional experience)
- Minimum 10 years of hands-on experience with SCADA/EMS/DMS/ADMS systems
- Proven experience mentoring and leading engineering teams
- Strong technical knowledge of vendor systems, including: GE (formerly Alstom), Aspentech (formerly OSI), Schneider, Siemens, or ABB systems
- Proficiency across EMS and DMS domains including SCADA, Generation, Network, and Dispatcher Training Simulator
- Experience with modeling tools, display-building environments, and configuration tools
- Software scripting and debugging experience (e.g., Python, PowerShell)
- Proficiency with SQL-based relational databases
- Strong skills in virtualization, Windows Server, Windows desktop, and Linux
- Experience with factory and site acceptance testing (FAT/SAT)
- Working knowledge of IPv4 networking and system integration practices

The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions. The final pay offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to the type and years of experience within the job, the type of years and experience within the industry, education, training, licensure, certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled.
At PSC it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is: $143,000 USD to $215,000 USD
