PSC is looking for Telecommunications Engineers and Senior Telecommunications Engineers to support the design, testing, commissioning and management of advanced telecommunications systems across critical infrastructure, with a strong focus on the energy sector.

Whether you’re an experienced Engineer looking to broaden your technical exposure or operating at Senior Engineer level and ready to take greater ownership and technical leadership, we’d like to hear from you. The level and scope of the role will be shaped around your experience and capability.

What You’ll Do

You’ll contribute to the delivery of telecommunications projects supporting electricity distribution and transmission networks. Depending on your experience, you’ll work independently or provide technical leadership, collaborating with engineers, field technicians, project managers and other stakeholders.

• Technical Delivery: Design, install, test and commission telecommunications systems, including IP-based networking, optical technologies and power line carrier systems.

• Network & Security Infrastructure: Support the development and implementation of secure, high-performance communication networks for mission-critical applications.

• Team Collaboration & Leadership: Work closely with Project Managers, engineers, field-based technicians and subcontractors to support effective project delivery. At Senior Engineer level, you may also provide technical guidance and mentoring to less experienced team members.

• Project Support: Contribute to network infrastructure upgrades and support services, including LAN/WAN design, installation, configuration and troubleshooting.

• Quality Assurance: Participate in technical reviews, security audits and quality assurance of engineering documentation.

• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with multidisciplinary teams supporting ICT and telecommunications infrastructure used by real-time business and operational systems.

Occasional travel and after-hours work may be required to meet project milestones.

What You’ll Bring

You’ll ideally have a bachelor’s degree in engineering, or equivalent relevant experience, together with practical experience in telecommunications, networking or communications infrastructure.

We’re interested in candidates with experience across some of the following:

• IP-based systems and networking, including MPLS, PDH/SDH, DWDM and LAN/WAN.

• VHF, UHF, fibre, microwave and/or power line carrier technologies.

• DC power systems and telecommunications infrastructure.

• Testing, fault finding and commissioning of telecommunications networks.

• SCADA, protection signalling or real-time telemetry networks.

• Network security and cybersecurity practices.

You don’t need to tick every box. We’re open to candidates at Engineer or Senior Engineer level and will consider the depth and breadth of your experience when determining the appropriate level.

Additional Experience We Value

• Factory Acceptance Testing and Site Acceptance Testing.

• Project or design management within complex network infrastructure environments.

• Cybersecurity, DERMS or ICT infrastructure management.

• CAD tools and engineering documentation.

• Experience within electricity transmission, distribution or other critical infrastructure environments.

• Experience providing technical guidance, mentoring or leadership to engineers and field teams.
